What's the difference between an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 4?

The Apple iPhone 4S was announced recently at an Apple-run event at their headquarters in Cupertino, CA. Many Apple fans and keen technology watchers had begun circulating rumors about the announcement of a new device in the iPhone range, particularly that the much anticipated iPhone 5 might be announced.

Many Apple fan boys may have felt let down by Apple's announcement of the 4S - ultimately a cheaper version of the iPhone 4, announced with a hope of cracking the elusive Asian smart phone market, a market which still has a lot of growth to complete before matching the heights of its Western world counterpart - but there are still a number of key features which elevate this new handset above the specifications of the current generation of iPhone.

The iPhone 4S utilize the dual-core A5 processor found in the highly successful iPad 2 device, which means apps will run a lot faster and smoother. There is also the option of a 64Gb model, a large storage size which has not been seen in the iPhone range thus far.
The 4S makes use of two separate antennas built into its shell, perhaps as a direct response to the furor caused by the signal problems defaulted to the iPhone 4 upon launch. It can now switch between its two antennas for the best possible signal.
Major changes to the camera system of the phone have taken place, including the ability to now shoot video in up to 1080p resolution. A built in gyroscope is also able to stabilize the camera as it is shooting.

There are also many more minor changes to be made to the iPhone 4S, including an exciting new piece of software dubbed 'Siri', but will let the guys at Apple fill you in on those. Take it away guys!
