The World’s Smartest People

Intelligence quotient or IQ is a score designed to assess intelligence. Anyone who has IQ in the range of 130-139 is considered as a gifted one and above 140 is considered as genius. Despite its shortcoming in the way of measuring, IQ is the only way to measure the smartest people in the world. Here are seven out of many smartest people in the world.

Judit Polgar has an IQ of 170. She is by far the strongest female chess player in history. She was the youngest person achieving the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15.

Paul Allen is alleged to have nabbed 1600 on the pre-1995 SAT. He is now the chairman of Vulcan Inc.

At the age of 3, Jacob Barnet could recite the alphabet forward and backward. He is now a student at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the current Prime Minister of Israel, has an IQ of 180. Last year, he was named in The New Statesman’s list of The World's 50 Most Influential Figures 2010.

Philip Emeagwali got three Master’s Degrees in Math Environmental and Marine Engineering. He is alleged to have an IQ of 190.

With an IQ between 250 and 300, William James Sidis is one of those who have the highest IQ ever recorded. He could speak over 40 languages fluently.

Christopher Langan could read at three and achieved a perfect score on the SAT. His IQ was measured between 195 and 210.
